Bert Edward Sandefur, age 65, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 12:46 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Osceola Regional Medical Center in Kissimmee, FL.
Bert was born January 1, 1953, in Evansville, IN, to the late Bert Enoch and Betty Jo (Skinner) Sandefur. He graduated from North High School in 1970. Bert had 45 successful years in the car business. He was also a member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ.
A great family man, Bert touched the lives of people all over, teaching them the value of loving your family and hard work. He took great pride in being a husband, father and grandfather. All of his grandchildren knew they could count on seeing their "Pop" in the stands at every event, as their number one fan.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Diane (McCain) Sandefur; son, Bert Eugene Sandefur (Natalie); daughters, Courtney Martin (Nick) and Ashley Carroll (Wes); grandchildren, Edie, Ella, Bert Easton, Piper, Brooks, Brinkley; and sisters, Tamara Jo Bernick (Phil) and Sheri Schneider (Ted).
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Mr. Randy Flittner for bringing Bert back to Evansville.
Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville. Burial will be Private in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.

When I started at Deaconess with my first real job Bert sold me a Toyota Cilica GT, such a nice guy. Our sons went to school together. Sorry to hear.

Mrs. Sandefur and family,
I just learned of Bert's death last night from a mutual friend through our North High School connection. I was so sad to hear it. Bert sold me three cars over the years and was always so kind and helpful. He even gave me sound advice about the boy my daughter brought to the dealership! i will definitely miss being able to call Bert when I need a car. Such a nice man. My prayers are with you.

My heart breaks for Bert's family and friends. Bert was such a great guy and an awesome car salesman. He was a true friend to Ron Hart. They shared a love of the car business and had a friendly rivalry that lasted for many years. He always had a big smile on his face! He will be missed, but his legacy will live on.
