Evansville, Indiana
Diane G. Casalena, 67, passed away Friday, April 10, 2015, at Deaconess Hospital, with friends and family at her side. She was born May 4, 1947, in Evansville, to the late Truman and Gale (Grant) Drake.
She was a beloved friend and devoted wife and mother. Diane was held in high regard by many throughout her life. She graduated from North High School. She was a hard worker and loyal employee. Diane was general manager of a locally owned and well established restaurant, where she retired in 2009 after 41 years of service. She was an avid reader and loved traveling with her cousin and best friend, Hazel Enrici, and spending Christmas with her friends and family.
Diane is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Clyde and Hazel Grant and John L. and Besse Drake. Her grandfather John drilled the first oil producing well in Vanderburgh County in 1930. Diane's father later bought out Vanderburgh County Oil Company in 1948. It went on to be one of the most successful oil producers in the tri- state area. She is also preceded in death by brother, Charles L. Drake; sister, Judith Drake Guinn of Ocala, FL.; and daughter, Kimberly L. Galloway.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Patrick Casalena; daughter, Amy Winters (Andrew Vieke); grandchildren, Jereme Galloway (Heather Earl Galloway), Morgan (Winters) Loudermilk (Joshua Loudermilk); great-granddaughter, Olive Galloway; brother, John Drake (Cindy Drake); sister, Linda Drake Evans of Ocala, FL; nieces, Charlene Drake and Leslie Griggs and nephew, Jason Drake; cousins and many friends.
Friends may visit Sunday, April 19, 2015 from 1:00PM to 5:00PM at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Vanderburgh County Humane Society or the National Military Family Association. Condolences may be made online at AlexanderNorthChapel.com.

Diane and her entire family were friends to me since early teens. We all hung at her house as much as our own.How I remember your remodeled bedroom with all the beautiful dolls. Diane was a great friend to my mother and babysat me as a child. I'll never forget growing up with the whole Drake clan. Those are memories I'll cherish forever. She was a great lady.
