James F. Evans

Evansville, Indiana

James F. Evans, 68, of Evansville passed away, September 8, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Opal Evans and sister, Mary Knight.

Jim is survived by his wife of 21 years, Brenda; brothers, Jerry (Bonnie) Evans of Newburgh, IN and George (Mary) Evans of Evansville, IN; sisters, Sandra (Jim) Collier of Evansville, IN and Sharon Goodwin of Vincennes, IN

Jim graduated from Reitz Memorial High School in 1966. He was employed by Mesker Park Zoo for 44 years. Member of Teamsters Local #215, served as Union Steward. He was former member of Henderson County Sportsman's Club and served on Board of Directors. Jim enjoyed playing cards and attending Ellis Park.

Private Funeral service was held at Bradley's Colonial Chapel, 1005 E. Main St. Boonville, IN with Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery. Condolences to the family can be sent to www.bradleyscc.com

I remember what a happy person Jim was and how if I needed to know something about an animal Jim always had the answer he was my go to person at the zoo ,he made the zoo a better place , it has not been the same since he left

I had the privelage of taking care of Mr. Evans, and he was such a nice man! I'm so sorry to hear he's passed. My thoughts will be with his sweet wife and family.
