Jeffrey Olen Goebel, 40, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018.
Jeff worked as a plumber. He loved the outdoors, especially camping, hiking and fishing with his son Seth. He also was an avid sports fan and a fan of the Michigan Wolverines, Chicago Cubs and New York Jets.
Jeff is survived by his son, Seth Goebel of Mt. Vernon, IN; parents, Tom and Karen (Metz) Goebel; a sister, Angela (Jaret) Wilson and brother, Nathan (Tammy) Goebel, all of Evansville; three nieces, Katelyn Goebel, Ava and Chloe Wilson and two nephews, Gavin and Kaleb Wilson. Jeff is also survived by a very large and loving extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Rev. Claude Burns officiating. Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery will follow.
Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a prayer service held at 4:00 PM. Friends may also visit with the family from 10:00 AM until service time on Wednesday at Corpus Christi Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ozanam Family Shelter or to the House of Bread and Peace.

Goebel family: Jeff was a kind man with many good qualities. He asked me several times the date and time of my youngest son's baptism - because he wanted to attend. He also gave me a pocket rosary with a Fatima relic. I think he said he had gotten it from you, Tom. When Jeff was healthy, he was a real gem. Very giving, very friendly, and welcoming. May he rest in peace. And know we are praying for him and for your family.
