Rosina Martin Obituary

Rosina (Schmidt) Martin, 96, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at the Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Michigan.

Mrs. Martin was a member of St. Wendel Catholic Church, the Ladies Sodality and the Knights of St. John Ladies Auxillary at the church. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her three daughters and their husbands, Floriana and Ted Huczek of Shelby Township, MI, Mary and Bob Faver of St. Wendel, IN, and Cathy and Larry Hayes of Centennial, CO; four sons and their wives, Bernard and Rita Martin of St. Philip, IN, Raymond and Barbara Martin of St. Wendel, IN, James and Sue Martin of Winslow, IN, and Joseph and Janice Martin of St. Wendel, IN. Also surviving are nineteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Bernard J. Martin; her parents, John and Catherine Schmidt; two brothers, Harold and Edwin Schmidt; two sisters, Elizabeth Mayhew and Frances Goedde. Infant twin brothers, one grandchild and one great-grandchild also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 9, 2008 at 10 a.m. at St. Wendel Catholic Church, the Rev. Ed Schnur officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 1 until 7 p.m. Sunday at Pierre Funeral Home, where the family will lead a rosary at 1:30 p.m. and the church will conduct a memorial service at 4 p.m. Friends may also visit with the family from 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Wendel Catholic Church.
