Ruth Hartz

Evansville - Ruth V. Hartz, 85, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Hamilton Point Assisted Living. She was born May, 3, 1934 in Evansville to the late Aloysius and Olivia (Will) Gilles.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Dan Hartz of Newburgh, Tony (Martha) Hartz of Evansville, Greg (Penny) Hartz of Port Charlotte, FL, and John Hartz of Evansville; daughter Kathy (Ronnie) Beasley, of Newburgh; brother, Gene Gilles of Evansville; and sister Dorothy Schmitt of Newburgh; grandchildren, Karie Conapinski, Leanne Emmons, Ronnie (Sloane) Beasley, Matt Hartz, Mike (Kara) Hartz, Rachel (Aaron) Stoltz, Emily (Austin) Ellis, Lynnsey (Billy) Harden, Zach Hartz, Katryna (James) Murray, and Brandon (Amelia) Hartz; 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Hartz in 2018; sister, Patty Hoffman; and brothers Cletus and Alfred Gilles.

Due to the current pandemic there will be a private funeral service at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2020, with Fr. Zach Etienne officiating. Family and friends are invited to live stream the service and view the tribute video on Ruth's Tribute Page at www.ziemerfuneralhome.com at the Photos and Videos tab, or the Media tab if using a mobile device.

Entombment will be at St. Joseph Mausoleum.

Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2301 N. Stockwell Rd., Evansville, IN 47715.
