Dr. George Molnar

MOLNAR Dr. George Molnar, age 85, of Westport, husband of Elizabeth Ring Molnar, died on Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport. Born and raised in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary Molnar. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Lisa Gibson and her husband, Mather, of Weston; one stepdaughter, Karen Vane of San Diego; two granddaughters, Claire and Alice Gibson; two brothers, Dr. Charles Molnar of San Diego, and Robert Molnar of Evergreen, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of both Yale University and Georgetown Medical School. He was a veteran of World War II, and was stationed in England, where he met and married his first wife, Pic. Dr. Molnar was both a cardiologist and an internist practicing at St. Vincent's Medical Center, where he served as the hospital's president for several years. He also was an assistant medical examiner for the State of Connecticut for 50 years in the Greater Bridgeport area. Dr. Molnar was a past member of the Brooklawn Country Club and the Patterson Country Club. Calling hours will be held TODAY from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Friends are invited to join his family for a funeral Mass on Friday at 11 a.m. DIRECTLY at St.Luke's Church, 84 Long Lots Road, in Westport. His burial will be private.
