To the Harrington family,
I am grateful that I was able to be with you during your period of great loss. It is clear that Jim loved each of you dearly, and that although he is no longer with us, he had touched many, many lives through his passion for life and his life's work. He created a very bright light through his spirit, and know that he will be pleased that you are taking the light he kindled in you forward in your lives, multiplying its effect in the world. papa, its still hasent kicked in yet that your gone. i will cherish every memory that i have of you. kameron will know that you were everyones hero. you always made me feel like a part of the family no matter what the situation. thank you for all the wonderful memories you will always be in our hearts love you papa!

Papa,
I never thought this day would come, I never thought I would have to say goodbye. The memories that I carry with me I will never let go. Verna will always be like my grandmother to me even if you are not here with us.Don't worrie we will help her through this and we all will get through this. Thank you for being such a wonderful person. You accepted me into your family and treated me as your daughter. It's so hard to say goodbye, but knowing you are now watching over us is comforting. Things I will always remember and cherish... The laugh you had when you were being sneaky. The way you would fall asleep on the couch while watching the race but to wake up in time to see the ending. The slowwww pace you had at eating dinner wondering if you would be done before it was bed time. Talking with you about everything and anything. It was so relaxing and comforting. I will miss that. I am grateful we had a long talk at Lisa's house. I am at peace with you. I love you, your daughter in law, Sandy

You were one of my Instructors(class of 85). Years later you were my Captain on L-4.When i saw you on the street, i'd say hey cap.You of course would remind me that you made Deputy Chief. You had this smile,no one ever had. It was a smile of love an understanding,and i told you you'lle always be MY CAPTAIN and you would smile again and grab my shoulder give it a tap. i'll never forget that smile

Jim was a great friend over the last 30 years that I knew him. He helped me many times while I was on the Watertown Fire Dept. I enjoyed the many lunches we had while we were retired. He will be missed by many that he touched.He was a good and decent man. It was an honor to call him my friend.
