Janice Boyle

BOYLE Janice Boyle, age 79, wife of the late Francis Boyle, died Saturday, February 26, 2005, at Saint Joseph Manor, Trumbull. Janice was born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late John and Margaret Myers Murphy and has been a lifelong resident. She served as secretary to both Cardinal Lawrence Sheehan the first bishop of the Diocese of Bridgeport and a former president of Fairfield University. She was active with the local chapter of Compassionate Friends and for many years both she and her husband were active volunteers with the Barnum Festival. Janice is a longtime member of the Gaelic American Club and served as chairperson of the venders tent at the Irish Festival for many years. Survivors include one son, Kevin F. Boyle and his wife, Eileen, of Bridgeport. In addition to her parent and husband, she was also predeceased by one son, Christopher Boyle and one brother, Charles Murphy. Friends are invited to attend the funeral Thursday 9:15 a.m. from the Spear Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield, and 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Cathedral, 359 Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Bronson Road, Fairfield.
