Michael Gintoli Obituary

Michael G. Gintoli
Michael G. Gintoli, age 73, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Kim Weber Gintoli, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 in Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on June 5, 1944, he was a son of the late George and Margaret Capasso Gintoli. A lifelong Bridgeport resident, Mike was an area business owner and realtor. He was formerly employed by the former King Cole and Peoples Warehouse Foods. Mike was the first Barnum Festival Tom Thumb and went on to become a judge in the Tom Thumb and Lavinia Warren Contest. He was a member of Bacio (Bridgeport Area Cultural Italian Organization), the Lion's Club and the Knights of Columbus St. Francis Cabrini Council. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time at the beach and cooking for his family. But above all of his accomplishments and enjoyments in life, nothing was more important than being with his family. He loved when his family was together, especially his grandchildren. The memories they created and unconditional love Mike provided will always continue to live on in their hearts. In addition to his beloved wife Kim of 17 years, survivors include three loving children, George Gintoli and his wife Jacque of Colorado, Beth Furnari and her husband Sal of Trumbull and Blase Gintoli of Bridgeport, a stepdaughter, Stephanie Maurer and her husband Alexander Head of Fairfield, seven cherished grandchildren, AJ, Michael and Olivia Furnari, Ava and Greyson Gintoli and Hutchison and Josephine Head, two brothers, Msgr. Blase M. Gintoli and George P. Gintoli both of Florida, four nephews, Eric, Michael, Christopher and Connor Gintoli, father and mother-in-law, George and Joanne Weber of FL, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends. Funeral services will take place on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. directly in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by Mike's brother, Msgr. Blase M. Gintoli. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday from 1-5 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jewish Senior Services, 4200 Park Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06604. To leave an online condolence, visit www.abriola.com.

I am an old friend of Mike's. We dated for a few months before he married the first time, but decided we made better friends. What an awesome man he was.

Through the years, I've seen Mike at different functions and he was always smiling. I'm sure there are no words to ease your pain, but always know Mike loved his family more than anything in the world.

We are so saddened to hear of Michael's passing. Our Grandmothers being friends, I grew up hearing nothing but loving stories about the family. When my parent's died, 13 days apart, I was in a very sad state. Attempting to clean out their home was an overwhelming task, Michael came every single day, he sat with me, he watched the house if I needed to run out, he helped me get ready for the tag sale. He was all heart. God has a new angel in heaven. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
