Sandor Gaal

GAAL Sandor Gaal, age 84, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Jolan Orosz Gaal, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 31, 2003, at St. Vincentas Medical Center, Bridgeport. Born in Hungary, Mr. Gaal had been a Bridgeport resident for nearly 35 years. He had fought for the Hungarian Army during World War II. In addition to his devoted wife, Jolan, Mr. Gaal is survived by a brother, Gyula Gaal of Hungary; a sister-in-law, Klara Hanak and her husband, Joseph, of Massachusetts; a niece, Clara Hanak; and nephews, Dr. Joseph Hanak and Dr. George Hanak; as well as several nieces and nephews in Hungary. Sandor was predeceased by his brothers, Odon, Joseph and the Rev. Dr. Ferenc Gaal; and a sister, Julia Csomos. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, (TODAY), January 3, 2004, at 9:30 a.m. in the FRANK POLKE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 1546 FAIRFIELD AVENUE, BRIDGEPORT, and at 10 a.m. in St. Emeryas Church, 838 Kings Highway, Fairfield. Burial to follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
