Thomas Bucher Obituary
Born Feb. 23, 1913, in Boiling Springs, he was the son of the late William M. and Henrietta Thomas Bucher and the widower of Carolyn Hailman Bucher, who passed away March 20, 2006. He was a former owner and operator of the Boiling Springs Pool and manager of the J.C. Bucher Estates.
He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Boiling Springs and former member of the PA National Guard.
He is survived by a daughter, Julia B. Books of Mechanicsburg; a son, Thomas M. Bucher Jr. of Sebastian, Fla.; six grandchildren, Debra Loreman of Ann Arbor, Mich,, Edward Books of Jaffrey, N.H., David Books of St. Charles, Mo., Amy Miller of Boiling Springs, William Bucher of Carlisle and Beth Deisher of Sebastian, Fla.; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Tracy Houston, and three brothers Jared, Paul and Theodore Bucher.
A memorial service will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 111 Walnut St., Boiling Springs, with the Rev. Carolyn S. DeStephano officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church following the memorial service. Private burial will be in Trindle Springs Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Red Cross, Cumberland County Chapter, 1710 Ritner Highway, Carlisle, PA 17013.
Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Mt. Holly Springs.
