Faith Blumenfeld Obituary

Faith Marsh Blumenfeld died peacefully May 21, 2022, after a rewarding life of joy and service. Born Sept. 24, 1928, she grew up on the Marsh family farm on Mudlick Pike, Cynthiana, KY. As sixth of seven children, Faith would recount that working in the fields and milking her cow before school made her determined and a hard worker for a lifetime, despite her 4-foot-9-inch frame.
Faith is preceded in death by her parents, Harry A. and Laura Rorer Marsh, sister Margaret Marsh Smith, and husband Rev. Edward Blumenfeld. She is survived by Ed's sons, Philip and Larry Blumenfeld, grandchildren Gabriel and Amber and one great-grand. She is survived by siblings Virginia Marsh Bell, Rees Marsh Wilcox, Jack A. Marsh, Joy Marsh Rice, and Gay Marsh Perrin, by 22 nieces and nephews, and the wider Marsh family who held her dear.
In 1950 Faith graduated from Transylvania College, studied nursing in Cincinnati, then embarked upon a career to teach nursing in Ohio, Michigan, and Illinois. Marrying in 1981, they lived in Phoenix, AZ, Albuquerque, NM, and Pleasant Hill, TN, and traveled the world before Ed's death in 2013. Faith loved hummingbirds, roses, Yorkies, people of all backgrounds, and met each with a joyous smile.
Faith's ashes will be interred in a small service at Battle Grove Cemetery, Cynthiana, KY, on June 19, at noon. A memorial service will be held on Sept. 17, 2022, at The Lodge at Shannondale, Knoxville, TN. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation might be sent to Church of the Savior UCC, 934 Weisgarber Rd., Knoxville, 37909, or the social justice cause of your choice.
