CHARLOTTE ALLEN Obituary
Born Aug. 12, 1920, in Creston, the daughter of Alva and Sadie (Grunstad) Griswold, she married Stoddard Allen on Jan. 2, 1940, in Clinton, Iowa.
She worked at General Electric for more than 40 years and enjoyed travel, golf and fishing in her retirement. She attended the First Baptist Church of Sycamore. Her greatest joy through the years was watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren participate in sporting events.
She is survived by a son, Stoddard (Ginger) Allen of DeKalb; three daughters, Linda (Robert) Campbell of Davis Junction, Carolyn (Meia Uili) Montavon of Malta and Kathleen Foster of Sycamore; 12 grandchildren, Jacqueline (Mike) Celestino, Judith (Carl and daughters, Sarah & Lisa) Leoni, Todd (Laurie) Allen, Thomas Allen, Tyler Allen, Kristine (Bill) Grzywa, Scott (Sandy) Campbell, Angela (Jason) Siebens, Douglas (Hope) Montavon, Matthew (Jamie) Foster, Jason (Rhiannon and daughter, Kyleigh) Foster and Michael (Jessie Spartz) Foster; 20 great-grandchildren, Morgan, Hannah and Riley Latimer, Lilly, Mason, Stoddard Julian and Bella Allen, Cody and Josie Grzywa, Tyler and Olivia Campbell, Ethan and Alex Siebens, Clare and Cole Montavon, Evan, Kylee, Liam, Nolan and Henry Foster; sister-in-law, Edith Griswold of Zephyrhills, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Genevieve Morris and Irene Tanner; two brothers, Arnold and Lester Griswold; and two sons-in-law, Jerome Montavon and David Foster.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at Ronan-Moore-Finch Funeral Home with Pastor Stephen Persson officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Creston. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family in care of the funeral home.

I'll never forget this dear sweet lady. I bowled on a team with her for years and we had great fun at the bowling tournaments we attended. Love you Char.
