How and I worked together at Hinckley Big Rock High School from 1983 until 1988 when I moved to Wisconsin. Joan mentioned Fort McCoy when she learned I was moving to Wisconsin but never mentioned she was born in Sparta, where I moved to in 2018. When I read her obituary I was surprised she was born here.

Joan was absolutely the kindest, smartest person I've ever known, an exquisite human being. Her family was the light of her life. Can't imagine what a loss this is to you.

Very sad to hear of Joans passing. She was such an integral part of Christ the Teacher Parish. I will miss her clear, sweet alto voice singing so truly throughout Mass. My heartfelt condolences go out to her beloved family of whom she was so justly proud.

We were so sorry to learn of Joan's passing. I enjoyed working with her for the years I did at HBR. She helped my students and let them work in the library. She was a wonderful teacher and was involved in her community. Many condolences to her family as she will be missed by all.

Joan was such a spiritual, kind & talented soul. May all whom loved her be comforted that she has been embraced by God & now beyond the pain & worries of this world. She has been transformed into a new immortal creation & has earned her place in Paradise. She shall be missed by all whom knew her. We know it is not goodbye, but we will see you in the blink of an eye dear friend. My deepest condolences to Joan's beautiful family.
