JOSEPH LINDENMAYER Obituary
Born Sept. 7, 1932, in Aurora, the son of Joseph and Rachel (Davis) Lindenmayer, Joe graduated from Maple Park Community High School in 1950. He married Kathleen (Finnan) on Sept. 2, 1955. Joseph was a dairy farmer in Maple Park before moving to Shabbona in 1960 to continue farming. He worked at Swift & Co. in Rochelle, then transferred to Eckrich in St. Charles, retiring in 1992. He loved fishing, visiting his neighbors Scott and Chuck, and having coffee in the early mornings at the Kountry Kitchen in Shabbona.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathleen; his son, David (Sarah) Lindenmayer of Sycamore; his daughter, Diane (Dan) Yunek of Sycamore; grandchildren, Olivia Lindenmayer of Chicago, Nicholas Lindenmayer of DeKalb and D.J. Yunek, Ashley Yunek and Katherine Yunek, all of Sycamore; and his sister LaVonne (Max) Uhlehake of Noble, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Rachel.
A memorial will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, at the home of David Lindenmayer, 12293 North Grove Road, Sycamore. For more information, call 815-895-7045.
In lieu of flowers, memorials go to the family for a fund to be established at a later date.

Years ago when we were neighbors all of our family thought highly of Joe's family, he was blessed with really wonderful parents.
More recently I have had good fun joking with Joe at the monthly Maple Park Legion bake sale. Because of hearing loss, I'm not quite sure either of us heard all the words, but that didn't stop us.
