John Hoskins Obituary
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, James.
John is survived by his wife, Karen; sons, David Gerald Hoskins, and Jordan Patrick Hoskins; brothers, Steven, (Shawn) Hoskins and nephew, Lucca; and Edward "Ted," (Maria) Hoskins, and nephew, Misha; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
John was a dedicated teacher of 29-plus years, having taught at Heights Middle School until his retirement in 2008. He loved his teaching, his students, and all of his co-workers. Teaching was his life. He also enjoyed camping and fishing, and walking his dog, Rusty.

Cremation has taken place.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, at First United Methodist Church, 808 N. Monterey Ave. in Farmington.
Arrangements are with Alternative Choice Cremation and Funeral Service, 804 N. Dustin Ave. in Farmington, (505) 326-3671.

Mr. Hoskins was a good teacher to my grandson, Matthew Stewart. Matthew was saddened at his passing and sends his condolences to the family.

~ Hoskins Family, We would like to extend our condolences to your family. Mr. Hoskins was my math teacher at Heights in the early 90's, and also my neighbor most recently. He will be remembered as a wonderful teacher/mentor and will be missed.

I cannot find words to say how sorry I am and how much I thought of John. He was my colleague, and especially, my friend. John always "had my back" when I needed him. I always admired the close, loving family that you all created and pray that memories will comfort you.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of John. I remember him fondly when Cheryl and I were very yound kids and got to go to Las Cruces when you were about to have David. He was always so kind and I remember his sense of humor. Everytime I saw you all at your parents house you were both so kind to me and it has brought back fond memories. I pray that God wraps his loving arms around each of you and gives you comfort, love, and brings you peace. God Bless All of You!

Karen and family so sorry for your loss. When I first started at Heights, John was one of the first people I met and my impression then and now was what a nice and gentle man he was. I'll always be grateful to have known him. God's blessing to you and your family.

Mr. Hoskins was my teacher at Heights about 20 years ago. I was sad to hear of his passing. I remember him being a great teacher. My condolences to his family.
