ROSSBURG - James A. Faller, 84, Rossburg, Ohio, died March 3, 2014, at his residence.
He was born March 13, 1929, in Fort Recovery, Ohio, to the late Leo Faller and the late Veronica (Hoening) Faller.
On Oct. 30, 1954, he married Mary (Post) Faller, who survives. Also surviving are four sons - Mike (Anita) Faller of Geneva, Ind., Mark (Priscilla) Faller of Huber Heights, Ohio, Steve (Ginger) Faller of Rossburg, Ohio, and Nick Faller of Fort Recovery, Ohio; six daughters - Janie (Scott) Hole of Celina, Ohio, Judy (Tom) Wentworth of Rossburg, Ohio, Connie (Bob) Kunk of Coldwater, Ohio, Margie (Rick) Young of Waverly Hall, Ga., Missy (Gordie) Schmitz of New Weston, Ohio, and Amy (Chris) Bihn of Fort Recovery, Ohio; four sisters - Ethel Jutte of Fort Recovery, Ohio, Ruth Cross of Pittsburgh, Pa., Ginny Schwieterman of St. Henry, Ohio, and Kathleen Faller of Fort Recovery, Ohio; a brother - Richard "Fritz" (Betty) Faller of Coldwater, Ohio; 34 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-laws - Aggie Faller of St. Henry, Ohio, and Jeannette Faller of Celina, Ohio.
Deceased are two grandsons, Neil and Ryan, two brothers, Edwin "Buss" Faller, and Harold "Boots" Faller, and three brothers-in-law, Albert Jutte, Robert Cross and Dennis Schwieterman.
He was a 1947 graduate of Fort Recovery High School, Fort Recovery. He was a U.S. Army veteran and who served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Fort Recovery American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was a former president of the Fort Recovery Alumni Association, all of Fort Recovery. He was also a proud Korean War Veteran who was a member of the Korean War Veterans, Piqua, Ohio, and was also a member St. Paul Catholic Church, Sharpsburg, Ohio.
Jim was an award-winning gardener who shared his harvest with many. He enjoyed farming and taking pictures or videos at various events. He was a devout catholic, who served his local parish by leading the rosary in church, being a lector, and he was also an adult server for many years.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Friday at St. Paul Catholic Church, Sharpsburg, Ohio, Fr. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Sharpsburg, Ohio. Calling is 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 to 9:45 a.m. Friday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio. Contributions can be made to State of the Heart Hospice or the Cancer Association of Darke County. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Fort Recovery American Legion.
