WINCHESTER, Ind. — Marvin Loyd Griffin, 71, of Winchester, Indiana, went to sleep and awakened in heaven with his Lord and Savior December 6, 2020, following an extended illness. Waiting to warmly welcome him to heaven was his wife, Anna Margaret Griffin, his father, Paul Arthur Griffin, his mother, Gladys Lorene (Teel) Griffin, and his brother, Gary Wayne Griffin, all of Winchester, Indiana.
Marvin proudly served our country as a Spec Officer (SP5) in the Vietnam War stationed in Stuttgart, West Germany, where he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter M-14, and Good Conduct Medal. He then returned to his home in Winchester, Ind., where he worked at United Technologies in Berne, Ind., until his retirement. Marvin gave his life to Jesus in 1972 and was proud to be a disciple of Christ. He was loyal, humble, gentle and kind. He was hard to anger and quick to forgive. His laughter was contagious and his sweet eyes and smile radiated love. He was full of life lessons which he loved to share with his family. His love for Christ and family shined through as he as he spent many years as a caregiver for his brother and his wife. Marvin also held a special place in his heart for his family with special disabilities. Marvin's final wishes to us were to remember to say 'I love you' more, spread happiness among the living, spend more time loving, and no time hating.
Survivors include his daughters, Marva Dawn Griffin of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Katherine (Ken) Sue Pearson of Zionsville, Ind., and his sons, Steven James Griffin of Muncie, Ind., and Paul Arthur Griffin II of Winchester, Indiana. Additionally, he is survived by six step-children whom he loved very much. Barb (Jeff) Sexton of Farmland, Ind., Deb Mutch of Greenville, Ohio, John (Sheila) Dull of Greenville, Ohio, Mike Dull of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Angie Dull Glidewell (Jason Wilt) of Winchester, Ind., and Jason Rockhill of Ft. Wayne, Ind. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren whom he loved unequivocally.
