Janet Marie Goretsky, "The Polish Princess," "G," 64, of Connellsville, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, at West Penn Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Feb. 27, 1954, in Connellsville, the daughter of Julia (Herchko) Goretsky and the late Walter Goretsky.
Janet was a member of the former Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville, and was a current member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville.
She worked at Anchor Hocking Cap in the customer service department for many years. She loved Pittsburgh sports, especially the Steelers.
She spent her time with her family and her beloved Polish Club family. Not only did she enjoy the company, but she also enjoyed decorating and planning the annual golf outing.
She is survived by her mother, Julia (Herchko) Goretsky; sister and brothers, Gloria Cross of Tarrs, Larry and wife Paula (Pavlosky) of Connellsville and Walter and wife Jerri (Orr) of Connellsville; nephews and nieces, Jason and wife Hailey of Pocatello, Idaho, Assunta Goretsky of Connellsville and Jerrod Goretsky of Canonsburg; great-nieces, Amelia and Kendall Goretsky; great-nephew, Ryland Goretsky; and her fiancé, Randy Herman of Connellsville.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Goretsky; brother-in-law, Ray Cross; and many aunts and uncles.
Family and friends will be received from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Paul G. Fink Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. Pittsburgh St., Connellsville. The funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville, with the Rev. Fr. Robert Lubic as Celebrant. Janet's family requests that everyone please go directly to the church for the funeral Mass.
Committal will follow at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville.
