Warren Charles King, 66, of Knights Landing, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012 at his home surrounded by family and friends. Warren fought a courageous six-month battle against cancer.
Warren was born in Woodland, and he grew up on the El Dorado Ranch near Knights Landing. He attended Grafton Elementary and Woodland High schools. Warren was a retired diesel mechanic, a talented woodworker, a charter member of the Flying Needles Quilt Guild, and co-owner along with his wife of King's Creations Custom Quilting.
Over the past several years, Warren served on the Knights Landing Advisory Board, and was the director of the KL Cemetery Board and the KL Service District for several years.
Warren is survived by Gennell King, his wife of 45 years 8 months; sons, Warren C. King II and Anthony L. King; grandson, David Marcus Sharp of Ontario, Idaho; brother, Arthur King of Chaparral, N.M.; and large extended King and Hunter families along with many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Gertrude King; brothers, Wayne King and Lowell (Sonny) King; sisters, Fern (Sally) King and Alice Turnbull; nephew, Wayne Henry King; and father-in-law, Henry G. Hunter.

A celebration of life and reception is scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Knights Landing Community Center, 7th Street, Knights Landing. Woodland Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
