Cathy Davis Edwards WEST HURLEY- Cathy Davis Edwards, 67, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, at her residence. She was born Aug. 31, 1944, in Shady, the daughter of the late Albert and Carol Gridley Davis. After graduating from Kingston High School in 1961, Cathy attended Cornell University and continued to pursue a career in the nutrition and food service industries. A talented seamstress, baker and crafter, she enjoyed sharing with and teaching her skills to family and loved ones. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and was loved by all who knew her. Cathy's family includes, son David A. Edwards of Saugerties; daughter and son-in-law Amy and Rob Rothe of Hopkinton, N.H.; daughter Carol Edwards of New York City; grandson Bowy Sawyer of Saugerties; granddaughters Kimberly Edwards of West Hurley, Kristy Edwards of Saugerties, Emma and Ava Rothe of Hopkinton, N.H.; sisters Christine Shauger of West Hurley, Inez Sovjani of Yorktown Heights, Mary Deignan of Gettysburg, Pa.; her late brother William Davis. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, and 11 nieces and nephews. Private services and burial were held at Woodstock Cemetery, under the direction of Lasher Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Tinker Street, Woodstock.
