Evelyn Weiner

Evelyn Zelickman Weiner was the daughter of Casper and Alice Zelickman. She was born October 7, 1934 in Boston, Massachusetts and moved to Kington, New York as a little girl, where she lived above her parent's market and grocery store on lower Broadway. She graduated from Kingston High School where she was a cheerleader and Cornell University and received her Master's Degree in Public Administration from SUNY Albany. She was a Social Worker for Ulster County for more than 30 years retiring as the Director of Medicaid. Evelyn was the loving wife of 'Mike' Myer Weiner (pre-deceased) and the mother of Cappy Weiner (Donna), and Mindy Weiner Quinn (Chris) who reside locally. She loved her garden and her piano and playing her piano for anyone who would listen. At heart she remained a Social Worker and truly cared about anyone who needed a helping hand. She was devoted to her husband and her children and her four-legged children, Blue Bird, the Melvins, Jellybean and Baby. She loved and adored her grandchildren, Allie, Abby, Hannah, Michael, and Kaylie, and was graced with two great grandchildren, Ella and Quinn, and she loved her nieces and nephews. Evelyn was pre-deceased by her husband, Mike, her sister Frances, her brother-in-law, Saul, and her sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Ted Weiner, all of whom she loved greatly. Her kindness and beauty graced all who came to know her. Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Monday, December 18, 2023 11am to 1pm with a memorial service taking place at 1pm. Memorial contributions can be made to the Saugerties Animal Shelter or the Ulster County Community College in Honor of Evelyn Weiner.
