WEST HURLEY- Joseph John Cannon, 85, of West Hurley, N.Y., passed away at home peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. He was born on Dec. 25, 1935 in Hoboken, N.J., and resided in Fairview, N.J. He was the son of the late Joseph Edward and Anna Mae Cannon. After graduating from Union Hill High School in New Jersey, Joseph served proudly in the U.S. Army stationed over in Germany. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts from Jersey City State College. Through the years he worked at various professions including teaching and sales. He retired from his career as a U.S. postal carrier. He also was active as an umpire in high school and college-level sports. Joe was also an avid golfer and poker player, and was a proud member of the American Legion Post 1026, Woodstock, N.Y. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Cannon of West Hurley. They were married in Woodstock, N.Y., in 1976 and would have celebrated their 45th anniversary this July 10th. He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Beth Cannon and her husband Jonathan Finn of Foxboro, Mass.; his son, Joseph R. Cannon and his wife Kristen of West Hurley; his sons, Michael and John Cannon of New Jersey; and his grandchildren, Alexandria, Dezarae, Peter, and James. He is also survived by his brothers, Philip and Thomas Cannon. Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service.
