Dorothy Jegier Obituary

Dorothy Evelyn Jegier Chickasha, OK Dorothy Evelyn Jegier, 90, entered into the arms of the Lord on August 9, 2014, in Chickasha, OK. Dorothy was born on August 3, 1924, in Schenecady, NY. She was the daughter of the late Menzo and Laura Hogaboone Cooper. Dorothy was also predeceased by her husband, Sigmund Jegier; and her children, Ronald and Robert Jegier and Sandra Smith; eight brothers and four sisters. Dorothy is survived by her two daughters, Joyce Place Melfe (Francis) and Bonnie (Edward) Peguillan; her five grandchildren, Denis (Melissa) Place, Missy Jo Place, Edward Peguillan III, John Smith and Rayanne Smith; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Gladys Balazovich, Joan Brann and Jean Jewell; and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy loved Bingo. She worked for 16 1/2 years for the State University of New York Central Administration as a Dictaphone machine transcriber. Special remembrances to Regina (Bob) Mele, her first co-worker and best friend and two other good friends, Cindy Coombs and Alice Fuller. Relatives and friends are invited to call, Saturday from 10 until 11 a.m. at Griswold Funeral Home, 1867 State St., Schenectady, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Viewland Cemetery.
