Dorothy Klinger Obituary

Dorothy Rose Klinger formerly of Arlington Heights Memorial services for Dorothy Rose Klinger of Iowa City, Iowa, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at First United Methodist Church of Arlington Heights. Born in Chicago, the daughter of Tony and Rose Mallak, she died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at Lantern Park Care Center in Coralville, Iowa. On June 19, 1971, she married Dale Klinger in Arlington Heights. Dorothy was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Arlington Heights, where she taught Sunday school and volunteered. Dorothy was also a member of the United Methodist Women. Survivors include her husband, Dale of Arlington Heights and Iowa City; and four children, Dennis (Debbie) Holz of Naples, Fla. and their sons, A.J. and Aaron; Gary (Adele) Klinger of Springfield, Va. and their sons, Matthew, Gregory and Daniel; Sharon (John) Pasch of Lake Zurich and their daughters, Julie and Emily; and Nancy (Neil) Quellhorst of Iowa City and their sons, Brad and Scott; two sisters, Marilyn Babcock and Leola Foster; and great-grandchildren, Max and Sasha Holz. She was preceded in death by her son, Douglas; sister, Loretta; and brother, Leonard. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be directed to First United Methodist Church, 1903 E. Euclid Ave., Arlington Heights IL 60004 or the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
