FOX RIVER GROVE - Erik J. Monsen, 50, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2017. He was born on January 31, 1967 in Rockford, IL to Johan and Suzanne (nee Balmer) Monsen. Erik was known for his quick wit, sense of humor and for his love of winter and weather. He also enjoyed skiing, playing golf and baseball. On February 2, 2008 he married Anne B. Alberts. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his parents; his sister, Kirsti (Toby Kellogg) Monsen - Kellogg; nephews, Ian, Tristan and Tait Kellogg; mother-in-law, Nathalie Alberts; and by his dog, Briar. He is also survived by extended family and friends. Memorial Visitation will be Saturday, September 23, 2017, from 4 PM until 7PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington, IL 60010. Interment will be private.
