Frederick Darmstadt Obituary

Frederick C. Darmstadt of Lake in the Hills A funeral Mass for Frederick C. Darmstadt, 81, of Lake in the Hills, formerly of Arlington Heights, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Mary's Church in Huntley. Born Dec. 15, 1920, in Chicago, he died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines. Mr. Darmstadt had retired as an executive for Illinois Bell Telephone after 42 years with the company. An Army veteran, he had served during World War II and the Korean War with the rank of captain. He was the beloved husband of Mae; loving father of Fred Darmstadt of Hayward, Calif., Mary (Tim) Hennie of Salisbury, N.C., and Joseph (Robin) Darmstadt of Arlington Heights; proud grandfather of Timothy and Jill Hennie of Salisbury; loving son of the late Jacob and Anna Darmstadt; dear brother of Anne Gosch of Wheeling, Dorothy Gallucci of Bartlett, and the late Robert, George and Edward Darmstadt; and cherished uncle to 17 nieces and nephews and 26 grandnieces and grandnephews. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at the Willow Funeral Home, 1415 W. Algonquin Road, Algonquin. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northesastern Illinois or to the Mercy Home for Boys and Girls. Friends may visit www.dailyherald.com/obits to express condolences and sign the guest book.
