Keith Shepherd Obituary

Keith E. "Rock" Shepherd of Round Lake A memorial visitation for Keith E. "Rock" Shepherd, 71, will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, at the Kristan Funeral Home, P.C., 219 West Maple Ave. (two blocks west of Route 45 on Route 176), Mundelein. Born Nov. 14, 1934, in Ivanhoe, Ill., he died Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, at home. Rock attended Libertyville Township High School and graduated with the Class of 1954. He was in the Army from 1955 to 1956 and was in the reserves for the following two years. He and his wife, Fay (nee Volling) married in 1959. Rock was a carpenter by trade and was a member of the Carpenters Local #250. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved to play 16" softball and fish. Rock was also an avid cribbage player and was a founding member of the Ivanhoe Community Club.. He is survived by his wife, Fay; sons, Brian (Nancy), Kevin (Tammie) and Craig (Michelle) Shepherd; daughter, Kelly Shepherd; grandchildren, Taylor, Carly, Lauren, Annie and Kate; and his sister, Nina (Al) Krupa. I've only known Rock for a short time but, he certainly brightened up my morning coffee at Yvonne's. He will be greatly missed.
