RICHARD L. BOKOR

1948 - 2015

PALATINE - Richard L. Bokor, 66. Born February 21, 1948, passed away January 4, 2015. Beloved husband of 39 years to Ann, nee Vodoklys. Loving father of B.J. (Julie) Jenkins, Shannon (Doug Roscoe) Jenkins and Courtney (David) Thomas. Proud grandfather of Tatum and Trey Jenkins, Quinlan and Berkley Roscoe and Carter and Evelyn "Evie" Thomas. Dear brother of Geri (Ken) Sandford. Richard attended DePaul University on a track scholarship and was inducted into the DePaul Hall of Fame in 2001 in recognition of his top 10 in the world 600 yard dash. He was a teacher, a coach, and a mentor to many students in District 15 and 211. Upon his retirement, he remained deeply committed to education, serving as a teacher mentor and on the District 15 School Board, and to his former students and athletes. He enjoyed travel, golf, and spending time with his family and life-long friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Food For the Poor/Julie's Holy Family Project, 6401 Lyons Road, Coconut Creek, Florida 33073, The District Fifteen Education Foundation, 580 North 1st Bank Drive, Palatine, IL 60067 or the Fremd High School Track Scholarship, in memory of Rich Bokor, donations may be made to the District 211 Foundation, 1750 S. Roselle Road, Palatine, IL 60067. Visitation Friday, January 9th from 2-8 p.m.at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine. Family and friends will meet Saturday, January 10th at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2515 W.
