Brother Bob,Brother Mel,
Down to the wire now on the trip to Carling, but you and Mel already know that. The excitement, on one hand, builds, but then so do those feelings of sadness with the departure of you two. We will try to keep you laughing with our antics and mistakes in the culinary preparation areas, and look forward to your "soft whisper in the ear" with spiritual and tactical guidance. Chris, Abby, Roger,Tommy and me (Brother Larry) with Love!!

Dearest Bob Robert, Boy am I a nervous wreck!! We are about to become grandparents to Adam and Nina's baby girl. I am remembering how we waited patiently for Adam to be born, and what a blessing he brought to our lives. I will let you know when Madeline Grace Majerus arrives; but you will probably already feel the love,

Remembering Good Times. Conversation between childhood playmates at the Scotsman Christmas (holiday parties), as Gary and he bantered. Kathy always had a corsage to wear on her wrist. She must have married a gentleman. Talking to me, being somewhat short in stature, he related the upper shelves were his function in life.

Kathy, I just got back from a Van Riper Family Camp in conjunction with the Red Wing Stoneware Convention. Again at Dean's in Douglas. Dean had sewn the big white canvas tent our guys hunted out of in Northern Wisconsin. Last year I left it for my brother's in law to hunt out of, and to have it set up for Family Camp. Fun for everyone to talk smart around the campfire and make campfire pies. And a dry place in case of rain to enjoy.
I remember a turkey hunting trip to the Black Hills. Belle was a pup and most interested in robins. The wind started blowing, but the tent pegs held. We did leave one in a tree root, still there, as we tried to beat the storm out. The motel we stopped at, the windows shook.
I will always remember Gary's story about setting up the big tent in Northern Wisconsin deer hunting. Bob on one end of the tape measure, Gary telling go back farther. Bob questioning, "Are we going to park the truck inside too?"
I so enjoy them sharing good times. Bob told me they played together as kids too.
My niece, Cassie is a Natural Resource graduate. Love her, "Owl always love you."

Kathy,
I have to share something Jerry Meyer said years ago. Subject was trips between Chicagoland and Albert Lea. Gary and I could go mostly the whole trip and barely say a word. Jerry's take was, married people don't need to talk. They know what each other is THINKING.
I believe that and feel comfort to communicate that way.
Love You, and the World misses Bob too,

Hi Bob,
Today is Christmas. I remember how much you loved it. When I left mass today, DDD Bruce said something very beautiful and comforting to me.
"Over two thousand years ago Mary held her baby in her arms. Today, Jesus is holding Bob in His."
When you asked me to marry you thirty-eight years ago tonight, I thought that I would never be without a smile again.
I love you always,
God Bless,
Kass

Bob,
Wanted to talk with you again. I know that life is so different for everyone that knew you. Give us all strength and direct us, through you. "What would Bob do?" I know your Family will need much support from all of us. We can do that.
They are not alone. Husbands and wives rarely go together. The challenges life gives us just makes us stronger and more appreciative. We cannot take Life for granted. It is truly a Gift to be Appreciated Every Day! Thank you for sharing your Life with the rest of us. We are indeed Thankful.

Bob will be missed by all whoever came into contact with him. Through our many years at Scotsman on the road and at home, Bob was always a positive influence. He would always surprise me by wishing "Happy Birthday" each year and I still don't know how he found out the day! It was probably the shortest conversation I ever had with him but, it meant the most and just showed how caring he was. He will be missed but not forgotten!

I cc'd Bob about the Van Riper Family Camp Out and bringing the big canvas hunting tent back to life, that he camped in too, years ago with Gary and hunting buddies. And learned of his passing.
I loved the story of Bob holding one end of the tape measure and Gary the other, to see where the tent pegs should go? Gary said, keep going, farther back. Bob querried, what's the matter, are we going to park the truck inside too?
I suspect much talking smart around the campfire going on.
I will always remember Bob's dry wit and real look at life. Seeing the forest, for the trees. I treasure having met and known him. Taken from us too soon, of course. But feel he did enjoy the journey, some do not reach the destination.
I enjoyed the chronicle of his life in the slide show you chose. In his life he truly was a Gentleman and a scholar.
Thank You for sharing.

Bob just loved making fun of sales guys, for some reason however the sales guys all got along with Bob. You could always be assured Bob would help you whenever you got in to jam, he could fix anything. He was always the first person at work and loved what he did, his passion for his job was second to none. Bob was liked by all that worked with him and he is already missed. We lost a good friend.

I cannot express how sad my heart feels at the passing of Bob. I have known him for the past 26 years and as I have seen in other entries, he was a great friend and colleague to me. I haven't talked to him for a while but I joined his facebook page to keep up with him. He taught me a lot about Scotsman Ice machines over the 23 years I was privileged to talk with him. He always kept me up to date on his trips (fishing & hunting). I pray that God will give you peace and understanding during this time of bereavement. Adam, I remember talking to you when you worked at Scotsman and your Dad always talked about you and what you were doing with your life. My son is the same age as you, Bob and I talked about our sons a lot while both of you were growing up. I will keep the Majerus family in my prayers. Tim Cantrell Empire Marketing Group

Our hearts are breaking for you Kathy, Adam and Nina, and the entire Majerus Family. No words can say how sorry we are, nothing we say will ease your pain. But know God's comfort and peace are around you, over you, holding you up, peace beyond reason.
Adam, when you and Kurt met in Viking's 6th grade band, who knew you would be Best Man in each other's wedding?! Remember when Kurt returned Stateside with the Marines and they stopped in Hawaii? Your Dad donated flyer miles so Dan could fly to Hawaii and join Kurt on the Tiger Cruise, back to CA. We were so thankful to your Dad, and will never forget it.
Our prayers, friendship, love are with all of you. We're here when you need us. There's decaf Crush in the fridge, a fresh pot of Decaf Dunkin on the warmer, and Risk waiting for you...oh, and a Russian winter hat with flaps, too. Much love to all of you, Dan and Ellen

I had the pleasure of meeting Bob just a few short years ago. We spent a day together, along with others, working together on a project for his company. That day was all it took for me to see what a warm and sincere person that Bob was. Over the years since that day our paths would cross at various trade shows. It always felt like I was greeting an old friend. We would talk about our families, (Bob always brimming with pride), life, work and many other topics. Bob being of those rare people that make an impression immediately, for all the right reasons.
Upon hearing of his passing a sadness enveloped me. Even though I have never met his family, I knew how devastating this would be. I also knew that Bob was admired, respected and loved by so many that this loss would be felt by all those who had both the privilege and pleasure of knowing such a wonderful man. I consider myself fortunate to have known him too and very sad that he has left us much too soon.
To his wife, son, family, close friends and associates, my heartfelt condolences - I know at such a time there is little I can offer in the way of consolation except to say that Bob will live on in our hearts and minds as we remember his unique way of making us all richer for having known him. May God bless, carry and strengthen you through this difficult time.

We have such heavy hearts and find it hard to express how we are feeling and for the heart ache you are enduring. Jerry and Bob had been friends and co-workers for so many years. Dear Kathy and Adam. I do not have words to express the depth of my sadness. I so enjoyed knowing and working with Bob at Scotsman and having had the opportunity to meet both of you at "Inlaws"! Please know that you are in my daily prayers. May the light of Jesus Christ shine upon you and bring you peace and comfort during this difficult time.
"Thank you Lord that it is you who will comfort Kathy and Adam (Is 51:12) and You will give Your angels charge concerning Bob and will guard him along the path to heaven (Ps 91:11). You will make known to Bob the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; in Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore (Ps 16:11). We praise and thank you Jesus that Your presence will go with Bob and You will give him rest (Ex 33:14)."

Bob was always a great story teller.
Especially of events that happened at work and play.
We will try the "best we can" to repeat these stories in his memory.
We can not promise that the stories will be as "accurate" as Bob's.
We can not promise that they will include as many "details" as Bob's.
However, we can promise that they will be "shorter" than Bob's.
What a great gift Bob's friendship was in our work and play.
The mention of his name will always make me smile!
