ROBERT R. "BOB" ZIMMERMAN

1953 - 2018

WEST DUNDEE - Robert R. "Bob" Zimmerman, , age 64, passed away under the care of hospice and surrounded by family on Wednesday Morning, September 12, 2018 at JourneyCare in Barrington. Bob was born on October 26, 1953 in Burlington, Wisconsin and was the son of the late Robert E. and Dorothy (nee Hammill) Zimmerman. Bob was a lifelong resident of the Dundee-Carpentersville area and a 1972 graduate of Irving Crown High School. For almost 30 years, Bob was a loyal and valued employee of School District 211 having worked as Building Foreman. Survivors include his beloved wife of 46 years; Shirley. Their children; Robert (Kristen) and Michael (Jennifer) Zimmerman and Dawn (Eric) Griswold. His 5 grandchildren; Ashley, Jacob, Michael, Bobby and Audrey. Other survivors include his sister; Denise Klatkiewicz and brother; Mark J. (Linda) Zimmerman, his nieces, nephews and many friends, as well as his beloved canine companion; Sabrina. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a brother in infancy; Richard. Family and Friends will gather at St. Monica Church, Carpentersville for Mass at 10 am on Tuesday. Burial will follow at Dundee Twp. East Cemetery, East Dundee. Visitation will be held on Monday at Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee from 3-8 pm and on Tuesday morning at the church from 9 am until time of Mass. At the request of Bob's family, please dress casual or in your favorite Blackhawks, Bears or White Sox attire.
