Matt, I want to send my condolences to the Komin family on this solemn occassion. Although I did not know your father personally, I do know a son is a reflection of their father which tells me how lucky you were. I remember on the day of our graduation from the academy, your father presented you with the certificate on stage. I could tell how proud he was of you. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I'll never forget when I was working in Lake Forest and coming home from work about 11 P.M. when police lights and car were behind me. It was pouring rain and the police officer was approaching my car. I didn't think I did Anything wrong. So I turned to address the officer and then realized it was Rudy. I said "Rudy what are you doing" He was so shocked he said What are you doing in this old car? Needless to say Lake Forest is a wealthy city and an old orange nova looked out of place. Everytime I saw Rudy we always laughed about that story. God bless you Rudy. Kathy and all your family so sorry for your loss. He was a great man! Love Carolyn Glen and Sons

I worked with Rudy at LFPD. He was a very good kind officer. I remember the Sunday morning many, many years ago that he showed up for day shift at 5:30am and then shook his head several times when he realized it wasn't 6:30 and he forgot to "Fall Back" and didn't set his clock after the time change the night before! You will be missed Rudy but I am sure you just got hired in heaven with Splatter and the others!
