RUDOLPH S. KOMIN

Rudolph S. Komin of Mundelein Rudolph S. Komin was born Jan. 30, 1949, in Chicago, and died on Thursday, April 28, 2011, at home surrounded by his loving family. Rudolph was a first lieutenant in the Marine Corps and served as a communications officer. He was also a retired (23 years) police officer from the Lake Forest Police Department. Following his retirement, he worked security for the Chicago Bears. He also held his private pilot's license and was a member of the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association). He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen (nee Bruner); his children, Laura (Steve) Wolfe, Ronald (Mia) Komin, Sarah (Robert) Fugelseth, Matthew Komin and Steven (fiancee, Shaina) Komin; his grandchildren, Nathan, Abigail, Sanya, Samuel, Ashley, Haley, Sadie and Brianna; his siblings, Edward (Patricia) Komin, Marianne McKean (the late Eugene) and Theresa Shaw; and his mother-in-law, Rosemary Bruner (the late Walter). He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Theresa (nee Orlin) Komin. There will be a memorial Mass on Tuesday, May 3, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Mundelein.
