Bobby Freeman Obituary

Bobby M. Freeman was born in Talladega, Alabama on March 30, 1934, and passed away on December 30, 2017, in Sarasota, Florida. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Emelyn Freeman; four nephews, Jim Freeman (Deborah), Bill Freeman (Kathy), Chuck Freeman (Angela) and Philip Briganti (Debra); three nieces, Sue Walden (Nat), Lisa Simmons and Sheila Freeman Weese; and his caretaker, Gracie Marines. Bobby graduated from Talladega High School in 1952. He valued the importance of education, and he went on to receive his bachelor's decree from the University of Alabama and master's degree from Columbia University. He lived in New Jersey for many years, where he was Director of Student Personnel Services at Pascack Valley High School. Bobby often invited his relatives to visit him, and he loved to take them to New York and show them a good time. He retired to Georgia and then to Florida, where he lived for the past 20 years. Our "Uncle Bobby" was a kind, thoughtful and generous person. He never forgot his upbringing in Talladega and always appreciated how it shaped his life. We will miss his love, laughter, sophistication and intelligence. Visitation will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday at Usrey Funeral Home, Talladega. Graveside service will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Talladega Friday, January 5, 2018 at 1:00 pm. Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega will be directing the services.
