Talladega, Alabama on May 29, 1946 to the union of the late Mr. Henry Frank Twymon and Mrs. Fannie Hawkins Twymon. Mrs. Armbrester began her life early as a Faithful Follower of Christ! Being led by the Spirit of Jesus, she became an active and devoted member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a Nurse's Guild and continued serving until her health began to fail. She received her formal education in the Talladega County School System where she attended R.R. Moton High School. Upon receiving her education, Mrs. Armbrester worked various jobs with her last full-time employment being with the Talladega City Board of Education in the transportation department for over 25 years. While performing her duties in the transportation department, Mrs. Armbrester became the mother to many children while making sure they made it from home to school and back home safely on a daily basis. Along Mrs. Armbrester's beautiful 77-year earthly journey, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Manchester Armbrester and together they shared the blessing of seven loving children, Jacob, John, Bryant, Angela, Vanessa, Sandy, and Lawanna. Her most lovely relationship that came only second to the love of God is the relationship that was shared with her children. Mrs. Armbrester loved her children, grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with her family which included four generations. Mrs. Armbrester, affectionately known to everyone as "Mrs. Cat" was a very loving and caring woman who loved people and always liked helping others. In her spare time, you may be able to catch up with her while trying her luck on the slots. She became known as the Mother of the community and all the neighborhood kids could always be found playing in Mrs. Cat's yard. She was everybody's "Madea" and found great joy in watching over all the children. Mrs. Armbrester was a feisty fashionista queen that loved shopping and dressing up in the finest of hats and her coordinative suits; but when it came to the Auburn War Eagles, she would have on her orange and blue supporting her favorite team. Mrs. Armbrester's family and friends are going to miss all the countless evenings and late nights of talking to Mrs. Cat and waiting for her phone calls!!!! Mrs. Armbrester is going to be missed immensely by all the hearts she has touched and lives she has encountered on her 77-year journey. Heaven has truly gained an Angel. On the morning of Tuesday, July 11, 2023 after God had graciously given Mrs. Catherine Armbrester to us, she calmly made her transition from this beautiful 77-year earthly life journey to her new eternal heavenly home when she answered the Master's call while in the care of Brookwood Citizen's Baptist Medical Center surrounded by loved one. As she walked through those pearly gates, she was welcomed to her new home by her parents, Henry and Fannie Twymon, granddaughter, Jada Twymon, brothers, Gary Jones and Willie Lee Twymon, and sister, Rosa Mae Wills. Mrs. Armbrester leaves to cherish many warm and loving memories her loving and devoted husband of over 50 years, Manchester Armbrester; three sons, Jacob L. (Donna) Twymon, John (Lisa) Twymon, and Bryant (Elisa) Armbrester; four daughters, Angela (Carlton) Curry, Vanessa (Roderick) McKinney, Sandy Michelle (Hosea) Armbrester, and Lawanna Wilson Armbrester; two brothers, Henry Frank Twymon and William L. (Jacqueline) Twymon; one sister, Jessie Mae (Joel) Howell; twenty-one grandchildren, Carlton, Angelic, Danielle, Shekeia, Donterrio, Jatavius, Takerra, Jacob, Jr., Antrena, LiQuori, Gabriel, Gabrielle, Shacoby, Lyric, Brantavia, Juantavius, Bryant, LaDerian, Kaleshan, Halimah, and Yishmael; special cousins, Josephine Robinson, Henrietta Smith, and Vickie Robinson; friends, Lou Denson, Katrina Chatman, Melvin Hutchinson, Wilna Massey, Linda Shelton, Mr. Johnny, and Effie Williams; and a host great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Although a pillar of the community has gone before us, Mrs. Catherine T. Armbrester has left a legacy behind, and she will truly be missed by all the lives she has touched. S.M.
