Harry Goins Obituary

Harry Edwin Goins, 87, of Greenwood, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 10, 2020. He was born on January 29, 1932 in Indianapolis, IN, son of the late James Goins and Nancy (Jones) Goins.

Harry graduated from Clark School in 1950. He served in the United States AirForce during the Korean War. Harry retired from Ford Motor Company in 1987. After he retired, Harry was Recording Secretary for the Ford UAW Retirees Local No. 1111. He was a member of the American Legion Lawrence Post #0777 and the Acton Masonic Lodge No. 134.

Harry enjoyed motorcycle rides out west, loved cars, all kinds of music, wrestling, and he especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Harry married Barbara Rosebrock on July 5, 1956.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Vickie (Tod) Coumbe, Mark (Annette) Goins, Angela (Matt) Tucker; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brother, Kenny Goins; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Teena Linne; siblings, Raymond Goins, Arvena Goins, Agnes Glaze, James Goins, Jr., John Goins, and Jane Goins.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 15 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, IN. A funeral Service will be conducted Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Harry will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army, Wheeler Mission, or The American Legion.
