BONNE TERRE - Edna Marie (Herbst) Forshee of Bonne Terre passed away Sunday, March 25, 2007. She was born September 21,1921 around Farmington to the late Henry and Elizabeth (Carrow) Herbst.
Edna grew up on a farm outside of Farmington and attended Cartee School. She later worked at the shirt factory in Farmington. On May 9, 1942 she married William Forshee and the two of them made their home and raised their family in Bonne Terre. William preceded her in death on July 28, 2006, after 64 years of marriage. Edna was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bonne Terre. She was also a member of Daughters of Isabella and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Bonne Terre. Edna also loved growing flowers.
In addition to her parents and husband Edna was also preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Sue Anne and Albert Braning; daughter, Nancy Jane Dane; grandson, Michael John Thurman; brother, Charles Herbst; brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl and Irene Herbst and Lawrence and Phyliss Herbst; sister and brother-in-law, Jessalyn and Wesley Mecey; father and mother-in-law Lyn and Sadie Forshee; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Forshee and Annabelle Johnson.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Kevin Zeeb of Morton, Ill., and Barbara and James Jones of Desloge; son-in-law, John Dane of Bonne Terre; brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Lou Herbst of St. Genevieve; sister-in-law, Ann Herbst of Farmington; also surviving are eight grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; nine great-granddaughters and seven step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5 - 9 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2007, with a prayer service at 6 p.m., at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. Services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bonne Terre with Rev. John Schneider officiating. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
