Margaret 'Mickey' O'Bannon
FARMINGTON – Margaret "Mickey" O'Bannon of Farmington passed away on March 6, 2023, at Crystal Oaks Long Term Care in Festus at the age of 85. She was born in Pilot Knob on May 27, 1937, to the late George Canterberry and Mary (Guitar) Canterberry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Virge Linville O'Bannon in 2011.
Mickey was raised in the Farmington area. She was a devoted mother to her children and would do anything for them, as well as others. Shopping for holiday decorations was a hobby with Mickey since she loved to decorate for most holidays. She also enjoyed cooking and her family loved her homemade fudge. Every chance she got; she played Bingo at the VFW Hall. Shopping for antiques was another favorite pastime. Mickey was a charitable person who generously donated to many of her favorite charities. She loved all animals but especially cats.
Survivors include her children, Leslie (Chris) Smith, Davida (Fred) Kimble, Damon (Tina) Harrell and Raquel Kimble Cox; her grandchildren, Shawn (Jennifer) Kimble, Bill Smith Dylan (Cianah) Harrell, Tiffany (Steve) Schubert, Kristina (Scott) Nulsen, Kyle Kimble and Kegan Cox; great grandchildren, Ashton, Daisy, Elliott, Grayson, Ethan and Bryson. She is also survived by her sister, Sue Canterberry.
There will be a visitation from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Visitation will resume on Friday beginning at 7:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Entombment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park.
