She was born in Clinton, Arkansas, on March 7, 1937, to the late Jesse Delane Allen and Ovie Lois (Cullum) Allen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C. D. Walker in 2010; her oldest daughter, Debra Jean DeClue; a sister, Kathleen Vaughn, and a brother Jimmy Allen.
Sylvia grew up in Higdon, Arkansas, where she was the captain of the girls' basketball team at the Higdon High School. They spent most of their married life in Southeast Missouri where she enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and reading western novels. Sylvia loved playing card games, playing Rummikub and she was an accomplished seamstress having made beautiful dresses and wedding gowns. She was a member of the Gumbo Assembly of God and had been devoted to her Christian faith for many years.
Survivors include her children, Greg (Sandra) Molina, LaVon (David) McCoy, Leonard Molina; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three foster great-grandchildren; siblings, Irene Ubobonoski, Willis Allen and Jean Allison; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Jeff Allison who took special care of his aunt, Midge.
