Raymond Pepe Obituary
He was surrounded by loved ones in his home. Ray was born on May 10, 1942 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and lived most of his life in Delaware and Chester Counties.
He graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School where he was a member of the Crew team, before serving 6 years in the United States Navy. When he returned from service, Ray founded Flotran where he worked until his retirement. During his time at Flotran, he coined such phrases as "Up your nose with a Parker hose" and "Hose Happens".
Ray lived life to the fullest. He was always happy and smiling and loved making people laugh. Ray loved to make a grand entrance wearing funny costumes, hats, mustaches, socks and loud colored clothing. He was passionate about music, and loved to sing with his beloved Westminster Presbyterian Church choir in West Chester, PA. Ray enjoyed his classic cars Cream Puff, Black Beauty and Touch of Class and took great pride in having them restored. He loved entering car shows in PA and Ocala and bringing home trophies.
After moving to Florida in 2015, he could be found looking for coffee at Carol and Tony's, enjoying happy hour at Mark's Prime Steakhouse, and having the time of his life with his beloved bride Kathy, who he loved to the moon and back.
During his life in Pennsylvania, Ray enjoyed many hobbies and interests including rowing at Boat House Row, sailing his boat "Bear Hugs" on the Chesapeake, singing with the Brandywiners, and playing poker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Peter and Bertha; and brothers Robert and George (Marc). Ray is survived by his wife Kathy; daughter Donna (Bob); son Mark (Angie); grandchildren Noah, Ethan and Arabella; sisters Ann Tumolo and Carol Manserra; his "bro" Tony "baloney" Manserra; and three step-children Ryan, Erica and Tyler. In addition, Ray was also a beloved cousin, uncle, and friend to all who knew him.

An open house celebration of Ray's life will be held at the Pepe home in Ocala, Florida on Monday, December 11, 2017 from 3:00pm – 8:00pm.
A Memorial Service & Life Celebration for Raymond George Pepe will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 2:00pm – 3:00pm at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 10 W. Pleasant Grove Road, West Chester, PA 19382.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of Marion County are appreciated.

Dear Mark, Kathy and family..
It's difficult for me to believe that Ray is truly gone, or is he....?....? You all know in the back of our minds that Ray is going to show up at a regatta, car show or boating event dressed in some crazy outfit ready to light up our world with his amazing presence...Ray told me the year before he passed that death was just a part of the great journey....So it is, until we meet again my good friend, I am always your friend and buddy...... I followed Ray as "The Voice" of the Diamond State Masters Regatta sponsored by the Wilmington Rowing Center held each July at St. Andrews School in Middletown, Delaware. Ray was a great coach and rower. I admired his strength, quick laughter, and friendship. Rest now, Old rower.
