He is survived by wife Nancy; daughters, Gayla Wurl, (OK) Penny Grout, Holly Kort; son, Tim Grout; son-in-law, Larry Kort of CO; five grandchildren; sister-in law, Elaine and husband, Herb Fredell of SCW.
James retired from Electrical Industrial Sales in Denver before moving to SCW in 1992. Member of Advent Episcopal Church, honorary member St. Alban's Anglican Church Peoria, SCW Bocee, Country Western Dance, International Social.
Services at Ft. Logan National Cemetary, Englewood, CO at a later time.

Jim was like a brother to me as I've know and loved him for
sixty some years. He had a great laugh and a love for life.
Was a great husband to Nancy and a good father to his six childred.
There will be a empty space in my heart which he had filled with his kindness.

i have many fond memories of ourlong friendship and the several trips we took and the fun that we had in mexico,hawaii, and arizona as well as our sun city west area.

We only knew Jim and Nancy for the past 2yrs.But we had some wonderful times to remember. He was a fun person and will experience in life, which I was full of questions about.I know life has a lot of stormy circumstances and Jims are over. We are told in the Bible,That to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Jim is with him now. He has made it home!! John 3:16-17-18.

You and Nancy are two of the best friends we were privileged to have here in Arizona or any where. We both enjoyed our frequent get-togethers at your home and ours. I especially enjoyed golfing with you,and the nineteenth hole we enjoyed together. I am sure you are with Jesus and are now looking out for us.

Our names are also Jim and Nancy (Labowe) and we met the Grouts many years ago when we learned to dance country western style. Jim, you and Nancy were our inspiration for a happy couple. You chided Nancy and she chided right back! We nicknamed you the "Loving Bickersons." We will miss your mischievous smile, your humor, your hugs. May you rest in peace at God's side, and rest comfortably in a special place in our hearts. We will love you always, Nancy & Jim Labowe

To family and friends of Jim Grout. All though we only knew Jim for a short period of time, we really liked meeting him while we stayed in AZ. He was a gentle man who was a very compassionate person and loved his family dearly. When we brought lobsters to him from Maine this past January, I believe Jim knew how much we loved and cared for the man we enjoyed so greatly on our visit. We became friends with Nancy and Jim when they moved across the street from us. Jerry missed his "sitting in the garage visiting" buddy when they moved so Jim could have a painting room. We always enjoyed seeing his latest painting projects and are impressed with his skills of woodworking and painting. We had a lot of laughs together along with some serious discussions and miss not having Jim around to add more.

We met Nancy and Jim at our church 20 years ago. We shared the same love for dancing, played bocce together and spent many New Year Eve celebrations together. Jim loved my pasta and whenever he came to dinner he wanted it. We shared many years of laughter and joy and were there for each other in times of troubles. We will miss Jim in our lives. We know God has a special place for him in His kingdom.

Uncle Jim was always laughing and having fun! I remember fishing trips, winter picnics, spaghetti dinners... He was a joy and will be missed until we join him and the rest of the family with Jesus. We love you Aunt Nancy and are here for you whenever you need us!!

In every gathering, whether it was bocce or dinners together, Jim was always upbeat and kept us laughing. He never complained about illness, pain or injuries. In short Jim was a joy to be around nd we will miss him!
