George Hadden Barrow

TOANO - George (Jack) Hadden Barrow, 77, of Hollister, FL passed away on February 28, 2017 surrounded by his wife and children. George was born on December 2, 1939 in Henry County, VA to Albert Hadden and Mae Barrow. He was the owner of George H. Barrow Masonry Contractors. He enjoyed camping, hunting, traveling and spending time with his family. He also spent many years with the James City Bruton Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad. George is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jean Thompson Barrow; daughters Cindy Jean Pennington (Kevin) of Mascot, VA and Vicki D. Williams (Tim) of Lanexa, VA; sons George David Barrow (Karen) of West Point, VA and Michael Hadden Barrow (Kathy) of Mascot, VA; 9 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; sister Louise Phippins of Bunnell, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents; sister Naomi Findley; and nephews Timothy Mayfield and Eddie Wayne Thompson. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 2:30 pm at Olive Branch Christian Church, Toano, VA. Reverend Richard Cline will be officiating. Following the service, friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of his life at the home of Vicki and Tim Williams.
