Minerva SMITH Obituary
On June 2, 2012, our Lord sent his angels for Minerva Crockett Smith, age 90. Born May 15, 1922, in Hopewell, Va. She was the last remaining child of the late John Albert and Otelia Williams Crockett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Carl Smith Sr.
Minerva graduated from Disputanta Training School in Prince George County, Va. A Peninsula resident for more than 50 years she was an active member of the church and community.
She leaves to cherish her memories her son, James Carl Smith Jr. (Paula) and granddaughter, Kristyn Smith; many devoted friends and loving family members.
A homegoing service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 8, at Mercy Seat Baptist Church on Todds Ln., in Hampton. The viewing will be held at Six House on Kecougthan Rd., Hampton, from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 7.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mother, grandmother and mother in-law. My deepest and sincere thoughts are with during this time. Krystn you now have a guardian angel watching over you. "And I said ,Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away, and be at rest." Just remember she lived a good life and may you rest in peace Ms Smith. To your family stand strong.
