Scott ARMSTRONG Obituary

HAMPTON - Scott Michael Armstrong, 65, died on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, 2012, from multiple medical issues.
He was born on Oct. 25, 1947, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Raymond and Jean Armstrong. He was a resident of Newport News for 21 years. After his service in the U.S. Army, Scott attended Golden Gate University in San Francisco and graduated with a degree in business management. In both California and Virginia, he was an avid sports fan and coached baseball for many years in both states. He was a member of the Newport News Moose Lodge 1119 and of the American Legion Post 25.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, June K. Armstrong; two sons, Jeffrey (Alissa) and their daughter, Arayah, Michael and his daughter, Autumn; one sister, Jean Hart of Newport News; a niece and two nephews.
The family wishes to express appreciation to Dr. Jeremiah Bushmaker and staff, and Dr. Jerome Provenzano and staff, for the kindness and special care they extended to Scott.
A memorial service is scheduled at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Msgr. Robert Perkins presiding. After the service there will be a reception in the parish commons.

Very sorry to see that Scott has passed away. He was a wonderful man. I always enjoyed talking baseball with him and coaching those few years at Post 255. Please know how sorry I am for your loss.
