Iris Fisher Obituary
Born on December 5, 1946, in Charlottesville, she was the daughter of the late Franklin Rothy Gibson and Eula Jane Gibson.
Gail is survived by her husband of 55 years, David “Duck� Ira Fisher of Barboursville, who she married on July 8, 1967; her sisters, Ingrid Payne and Jeannette Lawrence (Dennis); and her loving nieces and nephews.
She retired from the University of Virginia after 30 years. She enjoyed puzzles, traveling to the Outer Banks, baking, and caring for stray cats. Gail was a member of Maple Grove Christian Church.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Hill and Wood Funeral Home in Charlottesville.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Greene County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 358, Stanardsville, VA 22973.
