John Rybolt Obituary

John Fredrick Rybolt, 79, of Charlottesville, died Wednesday, April 19, 2006, in a local hospital.

Born July 19, 1926, in Decatur, Illinois, he was the son of the late Carl Rybolt and Kate Irene Townsley Rybolt.

John Fred was a graduate of the Georgia Military Academy, had attended Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Charlottesville Kiwanis, Earlysville Ruritan Club, Elks Lodge 389, and American Legion Post 74. An Army veteran of World War II, he had worked for many years as an accountant with State Farm Insurance and then Brady Bushey Ford.

Surviving him are his wife, Virginia Bailey Rybolt of Charlottesville; a daughter, Mary Lee Stevenson and her husband, Matt, of Erin, Tennessee; a son, David M. Rybolt and his wife, Cindy, of Charlottesville; four grandchildren, James Huband, Christina Dinsmore and her husband, Matt, Carol Rybolt, and Jennifer Laurin; two great-grandchildren, Landon Collier Rybolt and Matthew Tyler Dinsmore; and his cat, George.

A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2006, at Hill and Wood Funeral Home, with Dr. Sam Massey officiating.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Charlottesville SPCA, 3355 Berkmar Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22901 or American Heart Association, 3025 Berkmar Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22901 or American Cancer Society, 3042D Berkmar Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22901.

Hill and Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
