David Lee Lewis, 75, of Scottsville, Va., died on June 11, 2018. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce S. Lewis; three children, Gale C. Lewis of Dillwyn, Stacey D. Lewis of Scottsville, and Mark E. Lewis of Scottsville; three grandchildren, Russell B. Hawkins IV, Michael E. Lewis, and Kristen Michelle Smith; two sisters, Glory L. Mack (Stephen) and Sharon L. McCrobie (Ronnie), also numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by friends on both coasts, in Alaska and Canada, on every river he ever paddled and every trail he hiked. He will be remembered for his generosity and kindness, and innovations in computer programming. It was a special treat to received his signature Dave Lewis hug and see his big grin, whether he had seen you last year or just last week. He will live on through his photographs and love of music, nature, and outdoors, in his children and in the hearts of all he crossed paths with. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018, at Cherry Ave. Christian Church, 1720 Cherry Ave., Charlottesville, Va., at 3 p.m. Visitation with family will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to American Lung Assoc. Thanks to Legacy Hospice for their care.
