AGE: 69 • Morris Township
Barbra J. Quillan, 69, of Morris Township, New Jersey passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017.
Barbra was born on February 1, 1948 in Charlotte, Michigan. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (née Rich) Brzycki. She was a 1966 graduate of Charlotte High School.
Barbra was hired by Prudential Insurance Company, Newark, NJ in 1969. She worked in the employee benefits area of the Personnel Department, where she was an administrator of the employee savings plan and a designer of a major revision to Prudential's retirement plan. Later assignments included personnel manager in the Comptroller's Department, Group Insurance account executive, and product manager and sales executive for private placement corporate-owned life insurance. Barbra retired from Prudential in 1999 as a Vice President.
Barbra enjoyed cooking and entertaining. She and her husband George also loved traveling all around the world. Barbra was particularly proud of the trip to China she was able to take a few months after her kidney transplant.
Barbra is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, George S. Quillan. She is also survived by her siblings James Brzycki (Sandra), Jane Cobb (Jay), Elaine Cook (LeRoy) and Rosie Conroy. In addition, she is survived by sisters-in-law Marjorie Wendell, Joanne Foster (Charles) and Dorothy Williams (Ray). She was predeceased by her sister Marilyn L. Baum, and her brother-in-law John Conroy.
Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed in Barbra's name to either the Joslin Diabetes Center, www.joslin.org, or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, www.JDRF.org.
