Earl Fuller Obituary

PENN YAN - Earl L. Fuller, 96, of State Rte. 14, passed away Monday (September 27, 2010) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday (Oct. 1) at the Penn Yan United Methodist Church, corner of Main and Chapel St., Penn Yan. Interment will be in Bellona Cemetery.
Earl was born on January 16, 1914, in Bliss, the son of the late Elmer and Estella (Webster) Fuller. He served in the U.S. Army during W.W. II and was a POW for three years and four months in Japan. He was retired from Robinson Cutlery in Springville. He also owned and operated a fruit orchard. He and his first wife, Irene, had a generosity of spirit and shared their life with many children from Japan, including raising Anna Pong. Earl was an avid moose hunter and fisherman and enjoyed dancing and playing the organ.
Earl is survived by his living wife of 13 years, Esther; his adoptive daughter, who he raised, Anna Pong; step children, Gary (Mary) Blakely, Terry Blakely, Gregory Blakely, Karen (Gary) Boscoe, Lori Blakely, Marcia Blakely and Paul (Colleen) Blakely; step grandchildren, Garth, Garrett, Tina, Jeremiah, Trisha, Pierce, Amelia, Mariah, Mykayla, Sienna, Kayden and Bryant; six step great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife of 50 years, Irene Klahn; and all his siblings.
