Holly Messier

AGE: 89 • Morris Twp.

Holly Messier died suddenly at home on Monday, October 1. She was 89 years of age, two weeks shy of her 90th birthday. Born in Evanston, IL, she lived in Glencoe and Highland Park, IL before moving to Morris Township NJ in 1954 with her husband and three young daughters.

Holly attended Stoneleigh Jr. College in Rye Beach, NH, and The American Academy of Art in Chicago, IL.

She was a highly respected watercolor portrait and still-life artist. Holly was a natural beauty with a charming personality and delightful wit. She was a loving mom and grandmother who will be greatly missed.

She was predeceased in 2011 by her husband, Fred, of 69 years, and her brother Peter Reece in 2003.

She is survived by her three daughters: Pamela Weichert and her husband Jim of New Vernon, Wendy Messier of Basking Ridge, and Linda Messier of New Smyrna Beach, FL. She is also survived by her grandson, James, and several nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services were held October 5th at Doyle Funeral Home, 106 Maple Avenue, Morristown, NJ. Donations may be made to The Seeing Eye of Morristown, NJ. http://www.seeingeye.org

So sorry to hear about your mom. I talked to her several weeks ago. Your father and mother were good friends and wonderful people. Now they are both at peace and with each other. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
